Affordable Housing: Two Housing Professionals in Our Congregation Share Their Expertise
Sunday, April 30 following worship
Please join us for this important nurture as we learn from two members of our church about current efforts to confront the Affordable Housing crisis in Washington, recognized as one of the least affordable cities to live in the nation. Many First Church members are nationally-recognized leaders in their fields. Join us to learn from two of those leaders − Dana Bartolomei and Robert Burns − about their groundbreaking work in the difficult field of affordable housing, particularly their work in DC.
- Dana Bartolomei is a Housing and Energy Efficiency Associate at the National Housing Trust, a national non-profit focused on the preservation of affordable housing through policy, real estate development, and lending. Dana focuses on utility engagement in the Southeast, advancing NHT’s goal of making multifamily homes healthy and affordable through energy efficiency.
- Robert Burns currently serves as Executive Director at City First Enterprises, a DC based non-profit, which lends for affordable housing, small business, and green energy projects in the DC region. City First also operates a shared equity portfolio of homes in DC. His background spans over 25 years in local government, affordable housing, community development, planning, disaster recovery, and he sits on one national affordable housing board and one local board.
