Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom on this Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday as we welcome Dr. Helga Baskett-Tippett, of People’s Congregational UCC, into our pulpit as our guest preacher. Our youth, under the leadership of Rev. Sam McFerran, will call us to worship with the words of Dr. King and their own reflections. The People’s Rhythmic Choir will offer a liturgical dance selection to “I’ve Been ‘Buked and I’ve Been Scorned.” Sandy Sorensen and Rev. Jason Carson Wilson will serve as our scripture readers with focus texts from Psalm 40:1-11 (doing God’s will) and Matthew 5:13-16 (you are the salt of the earth). We will also hear a reading of Dr. King’s words. Dr. Baskett-Tippett will preach the sermon. Rev. Amanda will lead us in prayer. We will close the service with our longstanding tradition, singing “We Shall Overcome” with Dennis Turner serving as our Designated Musician. Join us!
