Second Sunday Offering on December 9: Seabury Age-in-Place Program and UCC Christmas Fund
The Second Sunday offering on December 10 will go toward Seabury’s Age-In-Place program. Having a healthy, safe, and comfortable place to call home is important for all of us. Seabury’s Age-In-Place program supports older adults in Washington, D.C.’s Wards 4, 5, and 6 through transformative volunteer service projects that help people stay in their own homes. Age-In-Place engages volunteers as a critical piece of the safety net in D.C. by providing yard work and housing cleaning services.
Age-In-Place services are completely free for clients, which means the program supplies all tools and supplies. Our financial contribution will complement the volunteer component. An intergenerational group from First Church has volunteered with the program several times in the last couple of years. You may place a check in the offering plate or send it to the church office, payable to the church and marked for the Seabury Age-In-Place.
The offering at the Christmas Eve service on December 24 will support the UCC’s Christmas Fund. The Fund provides financial aid to retired and active ministers and their surviving spouses and children who face overwhelming financial demands. Your gifts will be very much appreciated. You may place a check in the offering plate or send it to the church office, payable to the church and marked for the Christmas Fund. All the loose offering in the plate on Christmas Eve will go to the Christmas Fund.
