Peter Tracey will light the third Advent candle of Joy. Polly Gordon and Rev. Laura Johnson will serve as scripture readers with focus texts from Isaiah 35 and Luke 1:46-55 (the Magnificat). Rev. Amanda will preach. The First Church choir, under the direction of Leela Koilpillai, will sing the anthem, &#8220;E&#8217;en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come.&#8221; Our Second Sunday special offering will support the United Church of Christ&#8217;s Christmas Fund. For those joining us from home, please take the time to prepare your table with the elements of bread and cup, which we will bless and break together as we celebrate communion. Join us as we prepare our hearts to receive the mystery of incarnation.<\/p>\n<p>Following worship, join us outdoors or online for coffee and fellowship, then return to the sanctuary for a hybrid nurture program led by Rev. Barbara Gerlach as Sandy Sorensen, Thaddaeus Elliott, and Rev. David Lindsey share their &#8220;hopes and fears,&#8221; calling forth those of all who gather to listen and respond.
