Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or by Zoom this Sunday for worship. Evie Raver will begin our service with the prelude on piano. The Rev. Barbara Gerlach will call us to worship with a personal reflection on the life of the Rev. Dr. Barbara Brown Zikmund, our beloved “BBZ” as we continue our summer theme “Unsung Heroes.” Rev. Sam will invite our children and youth forward for the annual Blessing of the Backpacks (bring your backpacks!). Omari Hardy will offer special music, singing the Lord’s Prayer, accompanied by Dennis Turner. We will share in a responsive reading adapted from Psalm 30. The focus text will be Acts 9:1-19 (Damascus Road and Ananias). Sandy Sorensen will preach the sermon. We will also share in prayers of the people. Join us!
Our children will begin worship with us in the sanctuary. Following the passing of the peace, they will move to the Christian Education wing for Sunday school with Rev. Sam. The nursery will be open throughout the morning for infants and toddlers.
Following worship, please join us in the lobby for coffee and community. Then at noon, join Kim Darling and Rev. Amanda in the Community Hall and on Zoom for a discussion about our all-church summer read, “Stamped from the Beginning” by Ibram X. Kendi.
