Click here to worship with us this Sunday by Zoom at 10:30 AM as we mark the first Sunday in Advent, meditating on the theme “Close to Home.” As Chris, Karen, and Peter Byrne will light the candle of Hope, we invite those worshiping from home to light your own candle of Hope as well (click here to view Rev. Amanda’s video on making your own Advent wreath). The First Church choir will offer a musical response to the Advent candle lighting, and Dennis Turner will serve as our guest musician. Rev. Sam will offer a children’s moment that makes meaning of hope. Meg Maguire will serve as our scripture reader with a focus text from Genesis 16 (the story of Hagar), and Rev. Amanda will preach a sermon entitled “Homesick.” We have open sign-ups each Sunday for up to 25 people to worship with us in the sanctuary while others join us by Zoom.
