Worship with Us this Sunday

Click here to worship with us by Zoom this Sunday at 10:30 as we continue our Black History Month theme, Howard Thurman’s “The Sound of the Genuine.” Emily Laing will lead the Call to Worship with a personal reflection. Moira Jones and Allison Truhlar will serve as our scripture readers with texts from 1 Kings 17: 17-24 (widow of Zarephath continued) and Luke 7:11-17 (raising of widow of Nain’s son). Rev. Amanda will preach and lead the prayers of the people. Dennis Turner will serve as our guest musician, and we will enjoy a choral benediction.
Please note that we are moving into Phase Orange of our COVID Safety Plan, allowing for hybrid worship with up to 50 people present in the sanctuary. Click here to sign up to worship with us in person.
Following worship, pastoral staff and members of our Outreach & Membership Commission will host a hybrid Inquirer’s Gathering for all newcomers wishing to learn more about First Church or the United Church of Christ; this will take place in a Zoom room following worship on the same Zoom link and (in-person) in the Chapel upstairs at 10th & G. All newcomers are welcome.
Others are welcome to join our Zoom coffee hour, a time of fellowship with one another.
