Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary on Sunday morning or click here to join us by Zoom this first Sunday in Advent, a holy season when we anticipate the incarnation of Christ. Lois and Kurt Fischbeck will light the Advent candle of hope. Rev. Barbara Gerlach and Lauren McFerran will serve as our scripture readers with focus texts from Isaiah 2 (swords into plowshares) and Matthew 24:36-44. Rev. Amanda will preach. The First Church Choir, under the direction of Leela Koilpillai, will sing the anthem, “And the Glory of the Lord” with Dennis Turner providing accompaniment on piano. We will also share in the prayers of the people. Join us as we prepare our hearts to receive the Christ child.
Following worship, join us outdoors or online for coffee and fellowship, then return to the sanctuary for a hybrid nurture program led by Rev. Barbara Gerlach as Dwan Reece, Laura Johnson, Robin Olson, and Kemmesha Thomas share their “hopes and fears,” calling forth those of all who gather to listen.
