Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom on this third Sunday in Advent for a celebration of music as the First Church Choir presents Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” under the direction of Leela Koilpillai, our Director of Music Ministry. The service will also feature special music from harpist Kristen Jepperson. Nan and Nick McConnell will light the third candle of Advent, the candle of Joy, and we invite anyone worshiping from home to light your own candle of joy as well as we continue our Advent theme, “How does a weary world rejoice?” Rev. Amanda will lead a responsive reading of Psalm 126 (may those who sow in tears reap shouts of joy). Hannah Long-Higgins will offer a reading of a poem by Wallace Stevens. We will also share in the prayers of the people. Join us as we prepare our hearts to receive the mystery of incarnation–Emmanuel, God-with-us.
