Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom this Sunday morning as we mark Epiphany, a season of new light and fresh insight coming into the world, made manifest in the birth of Jesus Christ for all. LaTayna Purnell will lead us in the prayer of confession and words of assurance. Myles Bohrer-Purnell and Rev. Jason Carson Wilson will serve as scripture readers with focus texts from Isaiah 60:1-6 (arise, shine, for your light is come) and Matthew 2:1-12 (the Magi). Rev. Amanda will preach the sermon. The First Church Choir will lead the congregation in singing the carol, “The First Noel.” Rev. Sam and Rev. Amanda will lead the communion liturgy, and this year we invite everyone to take a “star word,” as a guiding vision for the year. For those joining us from home, please take the time to prepare your table with the elements of bread and cup, which we will bless and break together. Join us!

Our children will begin Sunday morning in their classrooms in the Christian Education suite, enjoying Sunday school led by Rev. Sam. They will join us in the sanctuary for communion. The nursery will be open for infants and toddlers.

Following worship, join us in the sanctuary for a Budget Hearing in advance of our winter Congregational Meeting on January 21st. Treasurer Lucille Dickinson will lead the hearing, walking us through the budget that will be voted on in January as we live into our mission for 2024. All are welcome; this will be a hybrid event both in person in the sanctuary and on Zoom (same Zoom call as worship).
