Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom as we celebrate World Communion Sunday and continue our fall theme, “Choose This Day.” Chandra DeNap Whetstine will lead us in a prayer of confession and offer words of assurance. Andrew Hamilton, Nora Marsh, and Dwan Reece will offer special music. LaTayna Purnell and Michael Enseki-Frank will serve as scripture readers with focus texts from Mark 10:13-16 (let the children come) and Hebrews (Jesus as God’s Child). Rev. Amanda will preach the sermon. Chandra will lift up the prayers of the people and preside over communion with Rev. Amanda. We will offer bread from around the world as we lift up in prayer places of struggle and strife. If you are joining us from home, please take the time to prepare your table with the sacred elements of bread and cup, which we will bless and break together. We will also hear the Lord’s prayer in a multiplicity of languages (Portuguese by Agatha Pinhiero, American Sign Language by Mylo Dexter, and French by Lindsay Swisher). We will also enjoy singing in English, Spanish, and Zulu.
