A rally featuring President-Elect Donald Trump at the Capital One Arena on Sunday, January 19th, presents both security and accessibility challenges for our usual worship service. We give thanks that the Rev. Benjamin Bragg-Reynolds of Peoples Congregational UCC, our sibling congregation, has invited us to worship with them at 10:00AM as we celebrate the life, ministry, and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. together with members of the Adas Israel Congregation. Rabbi Aaron Alexander and Rev. Amanda will bring greetings, and the Rev. Lee Hill, Jr. will serve as the guest preacher. The First Church Choir is invited to join the choral anthem, “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around,” with a rehearsal on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00am at Peoples under the direction of Dr. Robert Jefferson, Director of Music at Peoples. For those wishing to worship online, click here to access the broadcast of the worship service in real time (also accessible on Peoples’ YouTube and Facebook pages). This Spirit-led service offers a rare opportunity to worship with Peoples Congregational UCC in their sanctuary. We give thanks for their leadership and hospitality. Worship will begin at 10:00 AM and we have been invited to linger for coffee and fellowship following the service. Please join us.
