Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom this third Sunday in Lent as we continue our theme, “Everything in Between: Meeting God in the Midst of Extremes” and welcome Lynaya Morris, Member in Discernment, back into our pulpit. Lent is the season when we walk with Jesus toward the cross, preparing our hearts to receive the mystery of resurrection at Easter. Abby Goodman-Johnson will serve as our Lenten candle liturgist. Rev. Sam will lead a time with our children. The First Church Choir will sing the anthem, “Gracious Spirit Dwell with Me” under the direction of Dennis Turner. Jaimie Orr and Thaddaeus Elliott will serve as our scripture readers with focus texts from Genesis 1:31-2:3 (God rested on the seventh day) and Luke 13:10-17 (Jesus heals on the sabbath). Lynaya Morris will preach. We will also share in the prayers of the people. Join us!
Our children will begin the morning worshiping with us in the sanctuary. Following the passing of the peace, all children are invited to go to the Christian education suite for Sunday school with Rev. Sam. Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers.
Following worship, join us in the narthex for coffee and community. Then at noon, we invite you to move upstairs to the Community Hall for our Lenten series, “Envisioning Summer Worship,” facilitated by Chandra DeNap Whetstine with a focus on special music for the summer as Rev. Amanda is on sabbatical. All are welcome.
