Easter Sunday Worship: April 20

Join us in the sanctuary at 10:30 on Easter Sunday or click here to join us by Zoom as we move from the grief of Jesus’ crucifixion to the celebration of victory over the grave! The service will begin with strains of “Were You There” before we transform the sanctuary from its graveclothes into the bright and hope-filled house of God’s love. We are grateful to welcome back the Gabrieli Brass Quintet. Jaimie Orr will lead us in a prayer of illumination. Our children will offer special music and help flower the cross with Rev. Sam. The First Church Choir will sing the anthem, “Christ Has Broken Down the Wall,” by Mark Miller under the direction of Dennis Turner. Rev. Sydney Avent and Sandy Sorensen will serve as our scripture readers with focus texts from Isaiah 65:18-25 (peaceable kingdom) and  Luke 24:1-12 (the women go to the tomb). Rev. Amanda will preach. We will also share in the prayers of the people. Join us for a service celebrating the joy of resurrection power!

Our children will begin worship in the sanctuary; following their special music offering and the passing of the peace, children ages pre-K – 5th grade will be invited into the Living Room for a special time with Rev. Sam; we invite youth to remain in the service. Nursery care will be provided in the Christian Education suite throughout all of worship.

Following worship, join us in the Community Hall for the Easter Pancake Breakfast hosted by our Care of Parish Commission. Gluten-free (and gluten-full!) and vegan pancakes will be available, and there will be more than enough for everyone. An egg hunt for our children in the sanctuary will follow.
