Join us at 10:30 in the sanctuary or click here to join us by Zoom on this Sunday of Palms & Passion as we welcome our Conference Minister, the Rev. Freeman Palmer, back into our pulpit. Chandra DeNap Whetstine will speak the words of acclamation to call us to worship, followed by a processional of palms during the opening hymn including our children, the First Church Choir, and the pastoral staff. Rev. Sam will lead us in a unison prayer and extinguish the sixth and final Lenten candle as we journey into the shadows of Holy Week. The First Church Choir will sing the anthem, “Let the Rocks Cry Out,” by Lloyd Larson. Nan McConnell and Thaddaeus Elliott will serve as our scripture readers with focus texts from John 12:12-19 (Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem) and Mark 15:1-15 (Jesus is handed over to be crucified). Rev. Freeman Palmer will preach the sermon, entitled “THIS Parade Must Go On.” Rev. Amanda will also lead us in the prayers of the people. Join us for this poignant service of worship.
